4WHEN USING YOUR DRYERn Never reach into the dryer while the drum ismoving. Before loading, unloading or addingclothes, wait until the drum has completelystopped.nClean the lint filter before each load to preventlint accumulation inside the dryer or in theroom.DO NOT OPERATE THE DRYER WITHOUTTHE LINT FILTER IN PLACE, UNLESS THE DRYINGRACK IS IN USE.n Do not wash or dry articles that have beencleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spottedwith combustible or explosive substances(such as wax, oil, paint, gasoline, degreasers,dry-cleaning solvents, kerosene, etc.) whichmay ignite or explode. Do not add thesesubstances to the wash water. Do not use orplace these substances around your washeror dryer during operation.n Any article on which you have used a cleaningsolvent or that contains flammable materials(such as cleaning cloths, mops, towels used inbeauty salons, restaurants, or barber shops,etc.) must not be placed in or near the dryeruntil solvents or flammable materials havebeen removed. There are many highlyflammable items used in homes such asacetone, denatured alcohol, gasoline,kerosene, some household cleaners, some spotremovers, turpentines, waxes, wax removersand products containing petroleum distillates.n The laundry process can reduce the flameretardancy of fabrics. To avoid such a result,carefully follow the garment manufacturer’scare instructions.n Do not dry articles containing rubber, plastic,or similar materials such as padded bras, tennisshoes, galoshes, bath mats, rugs, bibs, babypants, plastic bags, pillows, etc. that may meltor burn. Some rubber materials, when heated,can under certain circumstances produce fireby spontaneous combustion.n Do not store plastic, paper or clothing thatmay burn or melt on top of the dryer duringoperation.n Garments labeledDry Away from Heat orDoNot Tumble Dry (such as life jackets containingKapok) must not be put in your dryer.n Do not dry fiberglass articles in your dryer.Skin irritation could result from the remainingparticles that may be picked up by clothingduring subsequent dryer uses.n To minimize the possibility of electric shock,unplug this appliance from the power supplyor disconnect the dryer at the householddistribution panel by removing the fuse orswitching off the circuit breaker beforeattempting any maintenance or cleaning(except the removal and cleaning of the lintfilter).NOTE: Turning the Cycle Selector knobto anOFF position doesNOT disconnect theappliance from the power supply.n Do not spray any type of aerosol into, on ornear dryer at any time.n Do not place items exposed to cooking oils inyour dryer. Items contaminated with cookingoils may contribute to a chemical reaction thatcould cause a load to catch fire.n Never attempt to operate this appliance ifit is damaged, malfunctioning, partiallydisassembled, or has missing or broken parts,including a damaged cord or plug.n The interior of the machine and the exhaustduct connection inside the dryer should becleaned at least once a year by a qualifiedtechnician. See theLoading and Using the Dryersection. Do not use any type of spray cleanerwhen cleaning dryer interior. Hazardous fumesor electrical shock could occur.n If yours is a gas dryer, it is equipped with anautomatic electric ignition and does not havea pilot light.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIGHT WITHA MATCH. Burns may result from having yourhand in the vicinity of the burner when theautomatic ignition turns on.n You may wish to soften your laundered fabricsor reduce the static electricity in them by usinga dryer-applied fabric softener or an anti-staticconditioner. We recommend you use either afabric softener in the wash cycle, according tothe manufacturer’s instructions for thoseproducts, or try a dryer-added product forwhich the manufacturer gives writtenassurance on the package that their productcan be safely used in your dryer.
