If you did not receive an Installation Instructions sheet with your dishwasher, you can receive oneby visiting our Website at GEAppliances.com. In Canada, visit www.GEAppliances.ca. Connect the dishwasher/appliance to a groundedmetal, permanent wiring system; or run an equipment-grounding conductor with the circuit conductors andconnect to the equipment-grounding terminal or leadof the appliance. Improper connection of the equipment-groundingconductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Checkwith a qualified electrician or service representativeif you are in doubt whether the appliance is properlygrounded. Dispose of discarded appliances and shippingor packing material properly. Do not attempt to repair or replace any partof your dishwasher unless it is specificallyrecommended in this manual. All other servicingshould be referred to a qualified technician. To minimize the possibility of electric shock,disconnect this appliance from the power supplybefore attempting any maintenance.NOTE: Turning the dishwasher off does not disconnectthe appliance from the power supply. We recommendhaving a qualified technician service your appliance.WARNING!Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used for two or moreweeks. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.If the hot water has not been used for two or more weeks, prevent the possibility of damage or injury by turningon all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes. Do this before using any electrical applianceconnected to the hot water system. This simple procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Sincethe gas is flammable, do not smoke, use an open flame, or use the appliance during this process.CAUTION: ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS This appliance must be supplied with 120V, 60 Hz, andconnected to an individual, properly grounded branchcircuit protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker ortime-delay fuse. If the electric supply provided does not meet the abovespecifications, it is recommended that a licensedelectrician install an approved electrical connection. Your dishwasher circuit should not be used forany other appliance while the dishwasher is inoperation as the dishwasher requires the fullcapacity of the circuit. If the wall receptacle you plug the dishwasher’spower cord into is controlled by a switch, turn onthe switch. Use this appliance only for its intended purposeas described in this Owner’s Manual. Do not operate your dishwasher unless all enclosurepanels are properly in place. Do not store or use combustible materials includinggasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors in thevicinity of this or any other appliance. Do not abuse, sit on, or stand on the door or dish rackof the dishwasher. Do not tamper with controls. Do not wash plastic items unless marked dishwashersafe or the equivalent.
