HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.If the hot water has not been used for two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of damage orinjury by turning on all hot water faucets and allow them to run for several minutes. Do thisbefore using any electrical appliance which is connected to the hot water system. This simpleprocedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do notsmoke or use an open flame or appliance during this process.WATER HEATER SAFETYUse this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner’s Manual.PROPER INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCEThis dishwasher must be properly installed and located in accordance with the InstallationInstructions before it is used. If you did not receive an Installation Instructions sheet withyour dishwasher, you can receive one by visiting our website at GEAppliances.com.n Connect to a grounded metal, permanentwiring system; or run an equipment-groundingconductor with the circuit conductors andconnect to the equipment-grounding terminalor lead of the appliance.n Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk ofelectric shock. Check with a qualified electricianor service representative if you are in doubtwhether the appliance is properly grounded.n Use supply conductors rated at least 75°C(167°F).n Dispose of discarded appliances and shippingor packing material properly.n Do not attempt to repair or replace any partof your dishwasher unless it is specificallyrecommended in this manual. All otherservicing should be referred to a qualifiedtechnician.n To minimize the possibility of electric shock,disconnect this appliance from the powersupply before attempting any maintenance.NOTE: Turning the dishwasher off does notdisconnect the appliance from the powersupply.
