They may prevent detergentfrom circulating during the wash cycle.The lower rack is best used for plates, saucers,and cookware. Large items such as broiler pansand racks should go along the sides. Loadplatters, pots and bowls along the sides, incorners, or in the back. The soiled side of itemsshould face the center of the rack.Silverware BasketPut flatware in the removable basket with forkand knife handles up to protect your hands. Placespoons in the basket with handles down. Mixknives, forks and spoons so they don’t nesttogether. Distribute evenly. Small plastic items,such as measuring spoons and lids from smallcontainers, should go in the bottom of thesilverware basket with silverware on top.A security cell cover (on somemodels) hinged in somehandles can be lowered toeither side to securelightweight items from theeffects of the vigorouswash action.Don’t let anyitem extendthrough bottom.
