It is caused bythe heating of new parts and insulating materialsand will disappear in a short time.NOTE: On models with light-colored glasscooktops, it is normal for the cooking zones tochange color when hot or cooling down. This istemporary and will disappear as the glass coolsto room temperature.The surface unit will cycle on and off tomaintain your selected control setting.It is safe to place hot cookware on theglass surface even when the cooktopis cool.Even after the surface units are turnedoff, the glass cooktop retains enoughheat to continue cooking. To avoidovercooking, remove pans from thesurface units when the food is cooked.Avoid placing anything on the surfaceunit until it has cooled completely.Do not slide cookware across thecooktop because it can scratch theglass—the glass is scratch-resistant,not scratchproof. Water stains (mineral deposits) are removableusing the cleaning cream or full-strength whitevinegar. Use of window cleaner may leave aniridescent film on the cooktop. The cleaningcream will remove this discoloration. Don’t store heavy items above the cooktop.If they drop onto the cooktop, they can causedamage. Do not use the surface as a cutting board.
