FOR YOUR SAFETY• For Personal Safety remove the house fuse or openthe circuit breaker before beginning installation.Failure to do so could result in serious injuryor death.• Be sure your cooktop is installed properly by aqualified installer or service technician.• To eliminate the risk of burns or fire by reachingover heated surface elements, cabinet storagelocated above the surface units should be avoided.If cabinet storage space is to be provided, the riskcan be reduced by installing a range hood thatprojects horizontally a minimum of 5″ beyondthe bottom of the cabinets. Cabinet installationabove the cooktop may be no deeper than 13″.• Make sure the cabinets and wall coverings aroundthe cooktop can withstand the temperatures (up to200°F) generated by the cooktop.• The cooktop should be easy to reach and lightedwith natural light during the day.• Always disconnect the electrical service to thecooktop before repairing or servicing the cooktop.This can be done by disconnecting the fuse orcircuit breaker. Failure to do so could result in adangerous or fatal shock. Know where your maindisconnect switch is located. If you do not know,have your electrician show you.ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTSThis appliance must be supplied with the propervoltage and frequency, and connected to anindividual, properly grounded branch circuit,protected by a circuit breaker or fuse, havingamperage as noted on rating plate. (Rating Plateis located on cooktop.)We recommend you have the electrical wiringand hookup of your cooktop connected by aqualified electrician. After installation, have theelectrician show you where your main cooktopdisconnect is located.Check with your local utilities for electrical codeswhich apply in your area. Failure to wire yourcooktop according to governing codes could result ina hazardous condition. If there are not local codes,your cooktop must be wired and fused to meet therequirements of CSA.You must use a three-wire, single-phase A.C. 208/120Volt or 240/120 Volt, 60 hertz electrical system.
