12To avoid possible burns, place the shelves in the desired position before you turn the oven on.Oven VentYour oven is vented through ducts at therear of the range. Do not block these ductswhen cooking in the oven—it is importantthat the flow of hot air from the ovenand fresh air to the oven burner beuninterrupted. Avoid touching the ventopenings or nearby surfaces during oven orbroiler operation—they may become hot.■Handles of pots and pans on the cooktop maybecome hot if left too close to the vent.■Do not leave plastic or flammable items on thecooktop—they may melt or ignite if left too closeto the vent.■Do not leave closed containers on the cooktop. The pressure in closed containers may increase, which may cause them to burst.■Metal items will become very hot if they are lefton the cooktop, and could cause burns.Plastic items on the cooktop maymelt if left too close to the vent.Vent appearance and location vary.Using the oven. Before you begin…The shelves have stop-locks, so that whenplaced correctly on the shelf supports(A through E), they will stop beforecoming completely out, and will not tilt. When placing and removing cookware, pull the shelf out to the bump on theshelf support. To remove a shelf, pull it toward you, tilt thefront end up and pull it out.To replace, place the end of the shelf(stop-locks) on the support, tilt up thefront and push the shelf in.NOTE: The shelf is not designed to slide out at thespecial low shelf (R) position. The oven has 5 shelf positions. It also has a special low shelfposition (R) for extra large items, such as a large turkey.Power OutageCAUTION: Do not make anyattempt to operate the electric ignition ovenduring an electrical power failure. The oven or broiler cannot be lit duringa power failure. Gas will not flow unlessthe glow bar is hot.If the oven is in use when a power failureoccurs, the oven burner shuts off andcannot be re-lit until power is restored. Thisis because the flow of gas is automaticallystopped and will not resume when poweris restored until the glow bar has reachedoperating temperature.Oven Light (on some models)Touch theOven Light On/Off pad on theupper control panel to turn the light onor off.Oven Light (on some models)Press theOven Light On/Off pad on the lowercontrol panel to turn the light on or off.OperatingInstructionsSafety InstructionsCare and CleaningInstallationInstructionsTroubleshooting TipsConsumer Support
