49-80759 13INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSInstallation InstructionsINSTALLING THE JUNCTION BOXInstall an approved junction box where it will beeasily reached through the front of the cabinetwhere the cooktop will be located. The cooktopconduit is 4 feet long.IMPORTANT: The junction box must belocated where it will allow considerable slack inthe conduit for serviceability.SECURE THE COOKTOPSecure the tub of the cooktop to a standard counterwith the wood screws shipped with the cooktop.Secure the tub of the cooktop to a tile counterwith 4 masonry screws. These can be purchasedat any hardware store.A When making the wire connections, use theentire length of conduit provided. Theconduit must not be shortened.B With the cooktop in place, open the front ofthe cabinet door.C Insert the wires from the conduit throughthe opening of the junction box. Secureconduit with a matching strain relief clamp.D Connect the red and black leads from thecooktop conduit to the corresponding leadsin the junction box.E Once the connections are made, securewires together using wire nuts.IMPORTANT: If the cooktop is beinginstalled into a blind counter (one with nocabinet opening below), wire connections mustbe made before putting the cooktop into thecutout opening.INSERT COOKTOP INTO CUTOUTInsert the cooktop centered into the cutoutopening. Make sure the front edge of thecountertop is parallel to the cooktop.
