Oven VentWhen the oven is on, heated air moves through a vent above the doorand below the grille. The vent area could get hot during oven use.The vent is needed for proper air flow in the oven and good baking results.Do not block this vent.Adjusting the Oven ThermostatUse the time given on a recipe when cooking thefirst time. Oven thermostats, in time, may “drift”from the factory setting and differences in timingbetween an old and a new oven of 5 to 10 minutes arenot unusual. If you find that your foods consistentlybrown too little or too much, you may make a simpleadjustment in the thermostat (OVEN TEMP) knob.Pull the knob off the shaft, look at the back of theknob and note the current setting before makingany adjustment. The knob is factory set with the topscrew directly under the pointer.Back of the OVEN TEMP knobTo adjust the thermostat:1. Pull off the knob.2. Loosen both screws on back of the knob.3. Hold both parts of the knob as shown in theillustration of the back of the OVEN TEMPknob and turn so the lower screw moves inthe desired direction. You will hear and feel thenotches as you turn the knob. Each notch changestemperature about 15° Fahrenheit. The lower screwmoves towardHOTTERto increase thetemperature. The lower screwmoves towardCOOLERto decrease thetemperature.Lower screw moves toward HO~ER or COOLER4. Tighten the screws.5. Return the knob to the range.Re-check oven performance before making anyadditional adjustments.9
