Preheating is necessary forgood results when baking cakes, cookies, pastry and breads. For ovens without a preheat indicator light ortone, preheat 10 minutes.Baking results will be better if baking pansare centered in the oven as much aspossible. Pans should not touch eachother or the walls of the oven. If you needto use two shelves, stagger the pans so oneis not directly above the other, and leaveapproximately 11⁄2″ between pans, fromthe front, back and sides of the wall.Aluminum FoilDo not use aluminum foil on the bottomof the oven.Never entirely cover a shelf withaluminum foil. This will disturb the heatcirculation and result in poor baking.A smaller sheet of foil may be used tocatch a spillover by placing it on a lowershelf several inches below the food.
