Keep this guide handy so you can refer to it,especially during the first weeks of using yournew oven.NOTE:• You may notice a “burning” or “oily” smell the firstfew times you turn your oven on. This is normal in anew oven and will disappear in a short time. Tospeed the process, set a self-clean cycle for 4 hours.See the Operating the Self-Cleaning Oven section.• A cooling fan may automatically turn on and off tocool internal parts. This is normal, and the fan maycontinue to run even after the oven is turned off.Shelf PositionsThe oven has seven shelf supports identified in thisillustration as A (bottom), B, C, D, E, F and G (top).Shelf positions for cooking are suggested in theBaking, Roasting and Broiling sections.Oven Vent DuctThe oven is vented through a duct that’s located on the left side of theoven just above the door. Moisture and vapors from the oven are ventedthrough it when the oven is in use. Never cover the hole in the duct. To doso prevents it from functioning properly during cooking and cleaning.Oven ShelvesThe shelves are designed with stop-locks so that,when placed correctly on the shelf supports, theywill stop before coming completely out of the oven,and will not tilt when removing food from or placingfood on them.When placing cookware on a shelf, pull the shelf outto the bump on the shelf support. Place the cookwareon the shelf, then slide the shelf back into the oven.This will eliminate reaching into the hot oven.To remove a shelf from the oven, pull the shelftoward you, tilt the front end upward and pull theshelf out.To replace, place the shelfon the shelf support withthe stop-locks (curvedextension of the shelf)facing up and toward therear of the oven. Tilt upthe front and push theshelf toward the back ofthe oven until it goes pastthe bump on the shelfsupport. Then lower thefront of the shelf and pushit all the way back.ADEFGBCBump24
