They also helpprevent flaming foods on the cooktopfrom damaging the inside of the hood.For this reason, the filters must ALWAYSbe in place when the hood is used. Thegrease filters should be cleaned once amonth, or as needed.To remove, press the filter locks back andpull the filters down and out.To replace, insert the rear filter tabsin the frame slots at the back of theopening. Push the filters up and lockthem into place.To clean the grease filters, soak themand then swish them around in hotwater and detergent. Don’t use ammoniaor ammonia products because they willdarken the metal. Do not use abrasivesor oven cleaners. Light brushing canbe used to remove embedded dirt.Rinse, shake and let them dry beforereplacing. They may also be cleaned inan automatic dishwasher.NOTE: Before cleaning, make sure thecharcoal filters, if present, are unclippedand removed.
