– 24 –Door Interlock SwitchesThe door has 3 interlock switches. All switches areremoved the same way.Door Sensing and Primary Interlock SwitchesThe power relay is mounted on the smart board. The primary interlock and door sensing switchesare activated by the latch heads on the door. Whenthe door is opened, the switches interrupt thecircuit to all components, except the oven lampand the control panel display. A cook cycle cannottake place until the door is firmly closed, therebyactivating both interlock switches. The primaryinterlock system consists of the door sensing switch, the primary interlock switch, and the power relay.Monitor SwitchThe monitor switch is operated indirectly by thebottom latch pawl. The pawl operates a cam switch, which in turn, activates the monitor switch. Theswitch is intended to render the oven inoperativeby means of blowing the monitor fuse when thecontacts of the primary interlock switch and powerrelay fail to open when the door is opened.FunctionsWhen the door is opened, the monitor switch isclosed. At this time, the primary interlock switch andthe power relay are open.As the door goes to a closed position, the monitorswitch is first open and then the door sensing switchand the primary interlock switch contacts close. To remove the door interlock switches:Disconnect wiring to the door switches.1.DisconnectDisconnectDisconnect4.
