MA-001 – TRANSFIX-family Installation Manual – Rev 3.0 18-Jan-16 Page 26 of 559 POWERThis section outlines the power requirements, electrical connections and related aspectsthat must be observed.The product contains a power supply that can accommodate 110 V AC (100-121 V AC) or 230 V AC (207-253 V AC), 50/60 Hz single phase factory set anddraws 8 amps maximum.The power source must be rated to either 110 V AC (100-121 V AC) or 230 V AC(207-253 V AC), 50/60 Hz. A 10 to 15 amp circuit meeting these requirementsmust be available for the product at the time of installation. Installation must bedone in accordance with local wiring regulations.Ensure that the mains selection switch in the product is set to the relevantvoltage range.Ensure that the mains power of the product is connected to a circuit that iscontinually on to ensure its continuous operation.Disconnection is through an external switch or circuit breaker that must beinstalled on the mains supply line near the product. The switch or breaker shallbe rated at 10 A minimum 250 V AC minimum.The switch or breaker shall be approved to IEC60947-1 or IEC60947-3 andinstalled in accordance with local wiring regulations. The switch or breakershall be identified as the disconnect device for the product and should belocated where it is visible from the product and easily accessible.Before commencing any work, ensure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFFposition and that the product is disconnected from the mains supply via theexternal switch or circuit breaker.9.1 ConnectionsAll wires and cables leading to or from the product are made through four conduitconnectors on the base of the product. The mains wiring routes through the 25 mmconduit connector, while wiring for communications and sensors route through the otherconduit connectors.Unused conduit connectors shall be sealed. Conduit connectors may bereplaced, if necessary. Terminal connections are provided on the System boardfor terminating the communication and sensor wires and cables.Section 8.3.1 depicts the location of the various cable glands and connection points ofeach product.
