You may also use abrasive cleanersand steel wool pads to clean the burner grates.Dry the grates with a cloth—do not place themon the cooktop when wet.Although they are durable, the grates willgradually lose their shine, regardless of thebest care you can give them. This is due totheir continual exposure to high temperatures.Do not operate a burner for an extendedperiod of time without cookware on the grate. The finish on the grate may chip withoutcookware to absorb the heat. After cleaning, replace the center grate firstwith its locking side tabs toward the front.Replace the side grates so that their side edgeslock over the tabs on the center grate. Makesure the grates are positioned securely over theburners and that they are stable and level.Rubber Grate FeetFor stability, your cooktop has rubber feet onthe burner grates.
