Do not attempt todisassemble or clean around any burnerwhile another burner is on. An electric shockmay result, which could cause youto knock over hot cookware.Push the control knob in and turnit to the LITE position.How to Select Flame SizeFor safe handling of cookware, never let theflames extend up the sides of the cookware.Watch the flame, not the knob, as you reduceheat. When fast heating is desired, the flamesize on a gas burner should match thecookware you are using.Flames larger than the bottom of thecookware will not result in faster heatingof the cookware and could be hazardous.Before Lighting a Gas Burner Make sure all burners are in place. Make sure all grates on the range areproperly placed before using any burner.After Lighting a Gas Burner Do not operate the burner for an extendedperiod of time without cookware on thegrate. The finish on the grate may chipwithout cookware to absorb the heat. Be sure the burners and grates are coolbefore you place your hand, a pot holder,cleaning cloths or other materials on them.Sealed Gas BurnersYour gas range cooktop has five sealedgas burners. They offer convenience,cleanability and flexibility to be used ina wide range of cooking applications.The smallest burner in the right rear position isthe simmer burner. This burner can be turneddown to LO for a very low simmer setting. Itprovides precise cooking performance fordelicate foods such as sauces or foods thatrequire low heat for a long cooking time.The medium (left rear) and the large(left front) burners are the primary burners formost cooking. These general-purpose burnerscan be turned down from HI to LO to suit awide range of cooking needs.The extra large burner (right front) is themaximum output burner. Like the other fourburners, it can be turned down from HI to LOfor a wide range of cooking applications;however, this burner is designed to quicklybring large amounts of liquid to a boil.
