These IO-Devices can be PAC8000 PROFINET Scannermodules or third-party IO-Devices. PAC8000 PROFINET Scanners and other typesof IO-Devices use GSDML files to describe their capabilities. The PROFINET IOconfiguration tool imports these GSDML files and incorporates the devices into theconfiguration.■ Configure the parameters of the PAC8000 PROFINET Scanners and otherIO-Devices.■ Configure the communications properties of the PROFINET IO-Controller, PAC8000PROFINET Scanners, and other IO-Devices.■ Add PAC8000 IO modules to the PAC8000 PROFINET Scanner..■ Configure the parameters of the PAC8000 IO modules and other devices in the PNS.■ When the configuration is ready, use a DCP tool to assign a name to each IO-Deviceso the PROFINET IO-Controller can connect to the devices and deliver theirconfiguration.■ Store the configuration data from the configuration tool to the PROFINETIO-Controller.Note: When the connection between IO-Controller and PNS is in progress, and if a newconfiguration download initiated, first the existing connection breaks and the outputmodules go into failsafe state (if configured so). Otherwise output modules hold thelast values. This output state continues till a valid output data received from IO-Controller.3.1.2 Configuration ToolThe configuration tool used to configure the PROFINET LAN containing the PNS modulemust support PROFINET V2.3 IO Devices.
