However, objects (fruit pits, bones, etc.) may collect inopenings and should be removed occasionally to avoid clogging the drain system.CAUTIONPersonal injury hazard. Failure to do so could result in burn injuries.Cleaning the Spray ArmsBecause hard water chemicals will clog thespray arm jets and bearings, it is necessaryto clean the spray arms regularly. To removethe spray arm, twist the retaining nut 90degrees and pull the spray arm off the shaft.Wash the arms in soapy, warm water and usea soft brush to clean the jets. Replace themafter rinsing thoroughly.Cleaning the FiltersFor best performance and results, the filterassembly must be cleaned regularly. The filterefficiently removes food particles from thewash water, allowing water to be recirculatedduring the cycle. For this reason, it is a goodidea to remove the large food particles trappedin the filter frequently by rinsing the main filterand cup under running water. To remove thefilter assembly, pull up on the cup handle. Theentire filter assembly should be cleaned atleast once a month. To clean the main filterand fine filter, use a cleaning brush. Then,reassemble the filter parts as shown in theillustration and reinsert the entire assemblyin the dishwasher, positioning it in place andpressing downward. The dishwasher mustnever be used without the filters.
