– 16 –Water ValveClampWater Valve and Flood SwitchThe water valve is a 120 VAC solenoid valve thatis switched on/off by the control module. Thefl ood switch acts as a safety switch ONLY anddoes not control normal operation of the watervalve. The fl ood switch opens the L1 side of thewater valve circuit. The switch is normally open. The weight of thefl ood switch fl oat holds the switch closed. Thefl ood switch will not stop the fl ow of water if thevalve sticks open from a mechanical failure. The water valve can be replaced with thedishwash er installed.WARNING: Disconnect power to dishwasherbefore servicing water valve and fl ood switch.Note: To prevent leaks after installation, ensurethat hose-to-valve connection is good and thatclamp is in place. The water valve is secured to the frame by 2 hexhead screws. (Photo is shown with fl ood switchremoved.)The fl ood switch is held in place by 2 Phillipshead screws.Flood SwitchWater ValveDrain SystemThe drain system consists of the followingcomponents:• Auxiliary drain pump (includes motor and one-way check valve)• Drain tube• Check valve (in line with drain tube)• Drain hoseThe inlet cover prevents large particles fromentering the sump. Water entering the drain pumpis not filtered by the fi ne filter (metal) or by thesump filter (plastic). The drain pump is mountedon the sump and contains a one-way checkvalve. The drain pump is controlled by the controlmodule and can be activated using Service Mode.Auxiliary Drain Pump Strip CircuitThe drain pump utilizes a 120V AC motor. Themotor should read approximately 16 Ω.
