– 16 –TankSensor and GasketControl 5 VDC to SensorThe routing of the DC wiring from the tank is veryimportant. The 3 tape points on the tank keep theDC wiring perpendicular to the AC harness wiringrunning down across the front of the tank. (See tankphoto.)Note: The dispenser tank, sensor with wire harness, and gasket are only available as a completeassembly (part # WD35X10058). They are shippedwith a new dispenser tank retaining collar.Detergent Level Sensor Strip CircuitBRN/YELLOW REDDETERGENTSENSORJ4-3J4-1Tape PointTape PointTape PointDetergent Level SensorThe SmartDispenseTM detergent level sensor consistsof a single level detection continuity sensor andincludes the following components:a grommet seala low detergent LED indicator lighta wire harness. When the detergent in the reservoir drops belowthe continuity sensor, a signal is sent to the controlboard and the low detergent LED indicator light isturned on. The light indicates 3 to 7 wash cycles leftbefore the detergent reservoir is completely empty.Note: The Low Detergent LED may look like it isilluminated when in fact it is not. An indicator that isilluminated will be a bright red.Note: If the SmartDispenseTM system is not beingused, the low detergent light can be turned off (oron) by pressing the Added Heat pad 5 times within3 seconds. There will be 3 audible beeps when thelight goes off.The sensor is similar to the type used in severalautomotive applications such as the windshieldwiper fluid reservoir. The control takes a reading of the detergent level atpower up (when power is restored from an outage)and each time the door is closed and latched. The control outputs a pulsing 5 VDC analog signalto the sensor and monitors the return voltage.Changes in the quantity of detergent in the tankchange the amount of current drawn by the sensor.•••LOW DETERGENTSmartDispenseSENSINGWASHINGD RYINGS ANITIZEDC LEANLight willturn onwhen timeto refill
