Using the OvenStainless Steel Range13The oven has 3 shelf positions.OvenshelvesTo avoid possible burns, place the shelves in thecorrect position before you turn the oven on.The correct shelf position depends on the kindof food and the browning desired.The shelves have stop-locks, so that when placedcorrectly on the supports, they will stop beforecoming completely out, and will not tilt. Whenplacing and removing cookware, pull the shelfout to the bump on the shelf support.To remove a shelf, pull it toward you, tilt thefront end up and pull it out.To replace, place the end of the shelf (stop-locks) on the support, tilt up the front and pushthe shelf in.How to setthe oven forbaking orroasting1 Push in the BAKE selector button.2 Using the thermostat dial, set the desiredtemperature.• The OVEN ON light turns on and remains onuntil the OFF selector button has been pushed.• The HEATING light turns on. Once theHEATING light initially cycles off, the oven ispreheated.3 Check the food for doneness at the minimumtime on the recipe. Cook longer if necessary.4 Push in the OFF selector button when bakingis finished.NOTE: When roasting, check the weight ofthe meat. Place the meat fat side up, or forpoultry, breast side up, on the roasting gridin a shallow pan. The melting fat will bastethe meat. Select a pan as close to the sizeof the meat as possible.
