10REVERSING THE DOOR SWING(continued)13. Rotate the middle hinge 180°. Attach it to therefrigerator door with the spacer and secure itwith a screw. (Do not tighten the screwcompletely.)CAUTION: Door gasket may rub or interfere withmiddle hinge. If this happens, remove washerson bottom hinge, one at a time until there is nointerference.14. Attach the freezer door to the middle hingeand use the screws to attach the upper hingeand spacer. (Do not tighten the screwscompletely.)15. The direction in which the doors open hasnow been changed; however, the followingpoints should be checked:a. Make sure both doors are on straight.b. Make sure that there is no space betweenthe door gaskets and the refrigerator unititself when the doors are closed.c. Make sure that the gasket on the hingedside is not caught between the door and theunit when the door is opened or closed.(If the door is forced closed when the gasketis caught, the gasket may be damaged.)Refer to the disassembly diagram and change thedoor hinges in the following procedure.The numbers in the diagram indicate theprocedure order in the instructions.1. Remove the hinge cap by twisting it off.2. Remove the upper hexagonal head screws.The freezer door can now be removed.3. Remove the middle hexagonal head screws.The refrigerator door can now be removed.Tilt the refrigerator back or lay it on its backfor steps 4, 5, and 6. Use a pad or blanket toprotect the floor and to avoid scratching thepainted finish.4. Remove the leveling legs by turning themcounterclockwise. Remove the lowerhexagonal head screws, two on the hingeside and one near the front corner of theother side.5. Attach the left side leg and leg spacer to theother side hole which was positionedsymmetrically.6. Attach the bottom hinge symmetrically tothe other side of the cabinet.7. Remove the upper hinge plastic pins andinsert them in the holes from which thescrews were removed in Procedure 2.8. Remove the middle hinge plastic cover andscrew. Insert the cover in the hole fromwhich the screws were removed inProcedure 3.9. Take off the hinge collar caps using ascrewdriver and insert them in the hingecollars on the opposite side.10. Remove the freezer door hinge stopper andinstall it in the other side of the door.11. Remove the refrigerator door hinge stopperand the hinge stopper screws and installthem in the other side of the door.12. Attach the refrigerator door to the bottomhinge.When checking the above points, if it isdiscovered that the doors are not installedproperly (this is apt to happen at the first try),loosen the screws holding the upper and middlehinges, straighten the doors and tighten thescrews slowly with the socket wrench. Aftermaking sure that the doors are installedcorrectly, tighten all the screws holding thehinges.If they are not tightened, the doors may slip outof position or there may be an opening betweenthe doors and the unit.
