PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONSThis manual provides instructions for servicing the TruSat™ pulse oximeter.This chapter contains:• A general description of the monitor.• Illustrations of the monitor.• Safety precautions.• Specifications.• Details regarding compliance with standards for Medical Electrical Equipment.1.1 General descriptionThe TruSat pulse oximeter is a durable and portable monitor that measures oxygensaturation, pulse rate, and PIr®, a relative perfusion index. The monitor is poweredby an internal battery, which is charged through an external power supply.Important: When using the monitor for the first time or after removing it fromextended storage, charge the battery for three hours BEFORE you power ON.The monitor contains an easy-to-read liquid crystal display (LCD) with a backlightfor low-light conditions. The monitor also contains on-screen controls for changingmonitor settings, a lock function, and an alarm system that generates audible andvisual alarm signals.The optional Trend Download board allows users to set the monitor clock, print, anddownload trends to a computer.
