18 49-2000707 Rev. 5INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Installation Instructions1 INSTALL HOOD SUPPORTIMPORTANT: Framing must be capable ofsupporting 100 lbs for 30" and 36" models and 150lbs for 48" models.• Locate a minimum of 2 vertical studs for theinstallation bar by tapping drywall with a hammeror use a stud finder.• Level the installation bar and center left to rightabove the marked line. Hold bar against the wall.• Drill 1/8” pilot holes at the 2 vertical stud locationsthrough holes in the installation bracket. Securethe installation bar with supplied screws (A) asshown above.Drill Bottom Mounting Hole Locations:• Hang hood on installation bar to mark anchorlocations. Mark hole locations through the back ofthe hood.• If installing to the soffit or cabinet, hold the hoodflush to the soffit or cabinet to mark screw holelocations.• Remove the hood and drill 5/16” clearance holescentered at the marks you made.2 INSTALL DAMPERIMPORTANT: Remove shipping tape from damperand check that damper moves freely.Install Top Damper:• The motor mounting plate comes pre-installed inthe hood for top venting.• Install the top damper to the hood body as shownin Figure A using screws (B) from top of hood.Install Back Damper:• In case of back venting through the wall, backdamper accessory UXBDA812 must be purchasedseparately.• Remove the square knockout panel on hood bodyfor back venting.• Install the back damper to the hood body as shown inFigure B using screws provided with the accessory.• Uninstall the motor mounting plate from topventing position. Save the screws.• Install the metal plate provided with the accessoryto cover the opening for top damper.• Remove the two screw knockout holes on themotor mounting plate as shown in Figure C.• Install the motormounting plate sothat arrow is pointingupwards and on rightside.• Slide plate into themetal brackets andpush in until metal clipsat the bottom engage.• Fasten the platethrough the two screw hole knockouts as shown inFigure C.
