11Refrigerator compartmentThe refrigerator compartment is the ideal storagelocation for ready meals, cakes and pastries,preserved food, condensed milk and hard cheese.Storing food▯ Store fresh, undamaged food. The quality andfreshness will then be retained for longer.▯ In the case of ready-made products and bottledgoods, observe the best-before date or use-bydate specified by the manufacturer.▯ To retain aroma, colour and freshness, packor cover food well before placing in theappliance. This will prevent the transferof flavours and the discolouration of plastic partsin the refrigerator compartment.▯ Allow warm food and drinks to cool down beforeplacing in the appliance.NoteAvoid contact between food and rear panel.Otherwise the air circulation will be impaired.Food or packaging could freeze to the rear panel.Fast coolingFast cooling sets the refrigerator temperature to thecoldest temperature setting for approx. 6 hours. If the door is open, the frozen foodwill thaw. The freezer compartment will becomecovered in thick ice. Also: waste of energy due to highpower consumption!Max. freezing capacityInformation about the max. freezing capacity within24 hours can be found on the rating plate (seediagram at chapter “Customer service”).Freezing and storing foodPurchasing frozen food▯ Packaging must not be damaged.▯ Use by the “use by” date.▯ Temperature in the supermarket freezer must be-18 °C or lower.▯ If possible, transport deep-frozen food in aninsulated bag and place quickly in the freezercompartment.Note when loading products▯ Preferably freeze large quantities of foodin the top compartment, where food freezesparticularly quickly and therefore also gently.▯ Place the food over the whole areaof the compartments or the frozen foodcontainers.NoteFood which is already frozen must not come intocontact with the food which is to be frozen. Ifrequired, move the frozen food to other frozenfood containers.
