Gently tamp down coffee withthe tamper (18) provided. Do not compress too firmly.7 Clean any excess coffee from the rim of filter holder (9).Insert filter holder into brew head by holding handle ap-proximately 45 degrees to the left as you face machine.When properly aligned,move handle firmly to the rightto lock into position.The handle should point to the front of the machine orslightly to the right.8 Place one or two espresso cups on the drip plate to lineup with the spouts of the filter holder. Press the buttoncorresponding to the stored coffee dose. Espresso willstart to flow into cups.9 The coffee dispensing will automatically stop whenthe preset level is reached (see Coffee doseprogramming);however it is possible to stop thecoffee dispensing by pressing the button (2 or 3) aspreviously selected. When properly made, the espressowill have a light brown foam “crema” floating on thetop.If not, refer to “In the event of faulty function”.10 Remove cups and serve.11 To brew more coffee, slowly remove the filter holder withcaution, moving it towards the left. Make sure to not getburnt with the water from coffee grounds. Once the filterholder has been removed, some water will still drop. Thisis due to the water pressure in the system. Remove thegrounds from the filter. To brew more coffee, repeat theprocedure from step 6 to 10.12 To brew coffee in manual mode repeat the procedurefrom step 6 to 7 and then press button (6). Once thedesired dose has been reached, press button (6) againto stop brewing. Then proceed with steps 9 and 10.N.B.: Dispensing should not exceed 40 seconds.Pre-InfusionThe machine allows you to adjust the dosage settings sothat the water produced for the COFFEE dose is preceded bya pre-infusion step.Press the dose button (2) and the normal coffee cycle ispreceded by a brief, timed jet of water that moistens the coffeewafer before the actual coffee making cycle starts.This function allows you to get the most flavor out of thecoffee wafer.PRE-INFUSION is not available on the dose button (3).N.B.: the machine comes from the factory with PRE-INFUSIONfunction set to ON. Should you choose to deactivate thisfunction you will need to enter the programming mode(see “Coffee dose programming”) and press thehot water supply button (4). The indicator light on thebutton will turn off.The indicator light on the hot water supply button (4) isON when the PRE-INFUSION function is ON. Vice versa, ifthe indicator light is OFF, then the PRE-INFUSION functionis OFF.Coffee preparation1 Follow the procedure described under “Prepara-tion”.2 Insert the frothing jet device (13) into the filter holder(9).Insert the “Perfect crema” filter for ground coffee (11) intothe filter holder, both for brewing 1 or 2 coffee cups.Insert the filter holder (9) into the brew group (14) fromthe bottom and wait for it to heat up.3 Place a container under the filter holder (9). Preheat thefilter holder by pressing button (6) (this operation isonly necessary for the first coffee).Water will start coming out.4 After dispensing 150 cc of water, press button (6) againto stop dispensing.5 Wait for the machine to reach the correct temperaturewith the filter holder cup inserted (warm-up time is about6 minutes).In the meantime, prepare cups, milk and coffee, etc.6 After the warm-up period, remove the warm filter-holder(9) from the brewing head and fill with correctly ground
