4. Using the Equipment for the First TimePosition of equipment: The point at which the unit is fixed must be sound, dry and wellventilated and must permit the pump to be set up in a stableposition.➔ Install the pump at a safe distance (min. 2 m) from the pump-ing medium. The pump must be installed in a location with low air humidityand sufficient ventilation in the area of the ventilation slots. Itmust be at a distance of at least 5 cm from the walls. No dirtcontamination (e.g. sand or earth) may be sucked in through theventilation slots.Install automatic domestic The mounting plate prevents the pump moving.water system permanently: 1. Screw mounting plate on to an appropriate base.2. Place pump on the base with both feet .Set the pump such that a suitably large container can be positionedbelow the drain screw for emptying the pump or unit .If possible, install the pump higher than the surface of the water tobe pumped. If this is not possible, install a vacuum-resistant shut-off device between the pump and the suction hose, for examplefor cleaning the integrated filter. If you install your Electronic Pressure Pump permanently indoors tosupply water for domestic use, connect your pump to the pipenetwork using flexible hoses rather than rigid pipes. This will helpreduce noise and prevent damage to the manometric switchdue to vibration. If the system is being installed permanently, please fit suitableshut-off devices on both the intake and delivery sides. This isimportant e.g. for maintenance and cleaning work or if the systemis being shut down. The connection pieces on the intake and delivery sides mustonly be tightened by hand.Connect the hose to the Do not use any water hose snap connection system componentssuction side: on the intake side. A vacuum-tight suction hose must be used e.g.• GARDENA Suction Hose art. 1411• GARDENA borehole Suction Hose art. 1729.To reduce the pump repriming time, we recommend:• using a suction hose with backflow preventer, which preventsthe suction hose emptying automatically when the PressureTank Unit is switched off• If the suction heights are high, use a suction hose with a smalldiameter.1. Connect vacuum-tight suction hose via a connection piece(e.g. art. 1723 / 1724) to the connection on the intake sideand screw in place so that it is airtight.2. For suction heights exceeding 4 m also secure the suctionhose (e.g. by fastening it to a wooden post). This relieves the pump of the weight of the suction hose.If very fine dirt is present, we recommend the use of aGARDENA pump preliminary filter art. 1730 / 1731 in additionto the integrated filter.17GB Art. 1723 /Art. 1724www.devicemanuals.eu
