If you are connecting theantenna to a device that does not have an accessorysignal wire, the orange wire from the antenna shouldbe connected to ground. If you are connecting the antenna to a device thatdoes not have an accessory signal wire (Accessory-ON), connect the antenna power wire to the ignitionor install an in-line switch. The antenna will drain thebattery of the boat if it is not switched.• If your NMEA 0183-compliant device hasonly one receiving wire (Rx), connect it to thegray wire (Tx/A) from the antenna, and leavethe white/red wire (Tx/B) from the antennaunconnected.• If your NMEA 0183-compliant device has onlyone transmitting wire (Tx), connect it to the whitewire (Rx/A) from the antenna, and connect thewhite/orange wire (Rx/B) from the antenna toground.Limiting the Antenna update RateBy default, the antenna outputs position dataupdates 10 times per second using serialcommunications rate of 38400 bps. By installing theincluded resistor cable the antenna can be limited tooutput position updates once per second using serialcommunications rate of 4800 bps.1 Mount the antenna according to theseinstructions (page 1).2 If necessary, cut the cable to the appropriatelength for the installation.3 Solder the included rate-change cable in-line withthe orange Accessory-ON wire.4 Use heat-shrink tubing around the solderedconnections.5 If you have not connected the antenna already, connect the power and data cables (page 3).Chartplotter SoftwareTo ensure compatibility with the antenna, upgradeyour Garmin chartplotter with the latest software.
