Rotating theknob clockwise past the detent turns power on and counter-clockwiseturns power off. When the COM radio is active, press the Power/Volume/Squelch knob to toggle automatic squelch control On/Off forthe COM radio.The GTR 200 radio receiver features an automatic squelch that rejects manylocalized noise sources. You may override the squelch function by pressingthe Power/Volume/Squelch knob. This facilitates listening to a distantstation or setting the desired volume level.To override the radio receiver automatic squelch, press the Power/Volume/Squelch knob momentarily. Press the Power/Volume/Squelchknob again to return to automatic squelch operation. A “SQ” indicationappears to the left of the active COM frequency window in the upperleft corner of the display when automatic squelch is overridden.Softkeys User-defined Softkeys, defined in configuration mode. Softkeys are alsoused for menu navigation.MicroSD™Card Slot Used for updating unit software.FrequencyTransfer KeyPress and release the Frequency Transfer Key to switch betweenthe active (left-most) and standby (right-most) frequency. Switchingbetween COM frequencies is disabled while transmitting. Press andhold the Frequency Transfer Key for approximately three secondsto tune the emergency frequency (121.500 MHz).MonitorStandbyFrequencyKeyThe MON (Monitor) key will engage the monitor function where theStandby frequency may be monitored while still listening to the Activefrequency.
