A Garmin®GND™ 10 must be used to send data from this device to a NMEA2000 network.Important Safety InformationWARNINGSee the Important Safety and Product Information guide in theproduct box for product warnings and other importantinformation.CAUTIONAlways wear safety goggles, ear protection, and a dust maskwhen drilling, cutting, or sanding.Use caution when working from heights.Registering Your DeviceHelp us better support you by completing our online registrationtoday.• Go to http://my.garmin.com.• Keep the original sales receipt, or a photocopy, in a safeplace.Installing the Propeller1 Ensure the shaft À lines up correctly with the slot on thepropeller.The socket on the propeller fits only one way on the shaft.2 Press on the propeller until it is seated on the device.3 Install the set screw Á to hold the propeller securely to thedevice.Mounting ConsiderationsWhen selecting a mounting location for the wind transducer,observe these considerations.• The wind transducer should be mounted on a horizontalsurface on the mast head À.• If there is not a horizontal surface on the mast head, anappropriate shim must be added to create a horizontalsurface.• The wind transducer should be installed facing the front ofthe boat Á, parallel to the center line.NOTE: If you do not mount the device facing the exact frontof the boat, or mount it facing the back of the boat, you mustconfigure the wind-angle offset to receive accurate wind-angle data by following the directions in these installationinstructions.Installing the Mounting Bracket1 Using the mounting bracket as a template, mark the pilot holelocations.2 Using a 4.5 mm (11/64 in.) bit, drill the pilot holes.3 Fasten the mounting bracket to the surface using theincluded screws.Securing the Device in the Mounting Bracket1 Loosen the lock nut À on the device by turning it counter-clockwise by hand until it stops.2 Place the device in the mounting bracket by pushing it downÁ and sliding it back until it stops Â.3 Secure the device in the bracket by turning the lock nutclockwise by hand until it stops.4 Attach the security clamp à to the device to prevent the locknut from loosening.Connection ConsiderationsThis device must connect to a Garmin GND 10 to communicatewith the NMEA 2000 network on your boat.2 Installation Instructions
