center position the kill function is not active, and the fre-quency will not be killed. When you move the selectedKILL SWITCH to the bottom FLASH position and hold itthere, the frequency will be killed. Releasing the selectedKILL SWITCH from the bottom position will bring it backto the center position and the frequency will no longer bekilled.5. CROSSFADER SECTION: The CROSSFADER (21)allows the mixing of one source into another. The left sideof the CROSSFADER (21) is CHANNEL 1 and the rightside is CHANNEL 2. The CROSSFADER (21) in yourunit is removable and if the need arises can be easilyreplaced. Your Gemini mixer comes with an RG-45 PRO(RAILGLIDE™) Dual-Rail Crossfader. Rail Glide™ cross-faders have internal dual stainless steel rails that allow theslider to ride smoothly and accurately from end to end.Also available is our CF-45 PRO (PROGLIDE™) Dual-Rail Crossfader. This unique crossfader features, state ofthe art conductive plastic technology, for unlimited useage.Another crossfader we have available is the PSF-45 (PROSCRATCH™) crossfader with a special curve designed forscratch mixing. Just purchase one from your Geminidealer and follow the instructions:Note: Do not apply pressure while using the Crossfader. Lightlyglide the Crossfader back and forth. Pressing down on the controlscan bend contacts and cause a loss of sound.6. CURVE CONTROL: The CROSSFADER CURVESWITCH (12) allows you to adjust the kind of curve thecrossfader has. Depress the crossfader curve button tomake the curve steep and cutting (perfect for scratching).Release the crossfader curve button to make the curvegradual and gentle.7. HAMSTER CONTROL: The CROSSFADERREVERSE SWITCH (11) allows you to reverse the cross-fader so that CHANNEL 2 (31) is controlled by the leftside of the crossfader and CHANNEL 1 (19) is controlledby the right side of the crossfader.NOTE: When the CROSSFADER REVERSE SWITCH (11) is activated(moved to the right), only the crossfader reverses. The ChannelSlides, Gain, Kill Switches and tonal controls do not reverse.8. CUE: Cue facilitates the seamless blending of onerecorded track into another. Connecting a set of head-phones to the HEADPHONES (8) jack allows you to moni-tor either Channel 1 or Channel 2. Select CHANNEL 1(19) by moving CUE FADER (18), located on the frontpanel, to CUE 1 on the left. Listen to Channel 2 by mov-ing CUE FADER (18) to CUE 2 on the right. To mix bothChannels bring CUE (18) to the middle so that both tracksmay be heard. Use CUE VOLUME (9) to adjust the head-phone volume without affecting the speaker-driven mix.09. MIC SECTION: Connecting a microphone to the 1/4"MIC JACK (10) allows voice amplification through themixer to the stereo through the MASTER RCA OUTPUTS(3) . This is controlled by the MIC VOLUME (16), HIGH(15), LOW (14) rotary controls.10. OUTPUT CONTROL SECTION: The level of theMASTER OUTPUT (3) is controlled by the MASTERVOLUME (13) rotary control.11. VU METER: The VU METER (25) LEDs indicates theMASTER RCA OUTPUT (3) in stereo. VU METER (25)LEDs reflect the VOLUME (13), GAIN (24,32), HIGH(23,33), MID (22,34) and LOW (21,35) rotary controladjustments for each channel.
