3. CHANNEL 2: The GAIN (12) control and the CHANNELLEVEL SLIDE (9) allow you to fully adjust the selectedsource. PHONO/LINE (7) switch allows you to select eitherline 2 or phono 2 to play on channel 2.4. CROSSFADER SECTION: The CROSSFADER (13)allows the mixing of one source into another. The left sideof the CROSSFADER (13) is channel 1 and the right side ischannel 2. The CROSSFADER (13) in your unit isREMOVABLE and if the need arises can be easilyreplaced. Crossfader units are available in two sizes. Part# RF-45 (which is identical to the crossfader supplied withthe your unit) has a 45 mm travel from side to side. Alsoavailable is part # RF-30 which has a 30 mm traveldistance. Just purchase either of these crossfaderunits from your Gemini dealer and follow these instructions.5. MICROPHONE SECTION: The MIC SWITCH (4)controls the microphone functions and the MIC LEVELCONTROL (5) controls the microphone volume. The MICSWITCH (4) is a three position switch. When it is in the leftposition, the microphone is off, in the center position, themicrophone is on, and in the right position, the microphoneis on and talkover is activated. Talkover, when activated, willreduce the overall volume of the mix without effecting themicrophone volume. You will find this feature very usefulwhen you need to make announcements over the music.6. OUTPUT CONTROL SECTION: The level of the AMPOUT (30) is controlled by the MASTER (14) control. TheBALANCE (15) control will allow the Amp Out signal to bebalanced between the left and right speakers. The BASS(16) and TREBLE (17) controls allow you to fine tune youroutput signal.7. CUE SECTION: By connecting a set of headphones tothe HEADPHONE (4) jack, you can monitor any or all ofthe channels. By sliding the CUE FADER (18) control tothe left you will be able to monitor the channel 1 output.Sliding to the right will monitor the channel 2 output. Theheadphone volume can be raised or lowered by using theCUE LEVEL (19) control8. DISPLAY: The dual function DISPLAY (20) indicateseither the MASTER (14) output left and right levels or thechannel 1 and channel 2 levels as dictated by the GAIN(11,12) controls. You can choose the option you want bypressing the DISPLAY BUTTON (21) *9. TRANSFORMING SECTION:A. Description: Most DJs use the Phono/Line switches ontheir mixer to do Transforming. By grasping the switchbetween two fingers, shaking back and forth would changethe input from Phono to Line to Phono to Line, etc. Thiswould result in a stuttering type effect. The problem with it isthat the Phono/Line switches often break and repairing themis costly.B. TRANSFORM SWITCHES: Your mixer is equipped withtwo removable Transforming Switches. These switches turntheir channel from off to on to off, etc. This results in thesame type stuttering effect. The TRANSFORM SWITCHES(22,23) have been positioned, by the factory, to move fromside to side. By unscrewing the 4 screws from theTRANSFORM SWITCH (22,23) plate, you can turn theswitch in 90 degree implements. This allows up/down,down/up, right/left or left/right positioning. TRANSFORMSWITCH (22) controls channel 1. TRANSFORM SWITCH(23) controls channel 2.C: PROCEDURE: Set both CHANNEL LEVEL SLIDE (8,9)to your required levels. With the CROSSFADER (13) to theright (channel 2), moving TRANSFORM SWITCH (23) fromwhite to orange to white will result in a stuttering effect. Withthe CROSSFADER (13) to the left, moving TRANSFORMSWITCH (22) will give the same results. You can vary theeffect by flipping the switch faster or slower, longer orshorter..D. ADDITIONAL EFFECTS: Set both CHANNEL LEVELSLIDE (8,9) to your required levels. Place TRANSFORMSWITCH (22) in the orange position. Slide theCROSSFADER (13) from the right to a positionapproximately 1/3 of the way towards the left. (Channel 2should still be playing through the speakers.). By movingTRANSFORM SWITCH (22) from orange to white toorange, you will turn channel 1 on and off (stuttering) whilechannel 2 continues to play to your audience.E. REPLACEMENT: To replace a defective TRANSFORMSWITCH (22,23) , remove the 4 screws from the plate andcarefully lift up. and unplug the cable. Plug the new switchinto the cable and place it back in the mixer, turning it untilthe direction is proper. Screw the plate down with the 4screws and you are ready to transform.Page 3 |
