Drivers aresolely responsible for making sure machinesare properly secured and the correct trailer isselected pursuant to US Department ofTransportation regulations, other localizedregulations, and their company policy.Genie customers needing to containerize anylift or Genie product should source a qualifiedfreight forwarder with expertise in preparing,loading and securing construction and liftingequipment for international shipment.Only qualified aerial lift operators should movethe machine on or off the truck.The transport vehicle must be parked on a levelsurface.The transport vehicle must be secured toprevent rolling while the machine is beingloaded.Be sure the vehicle capacity, loading surfacesand chains or straps are sufficient to withstandthe machine weight. Genie lifts are very heavyrelative to their size. See the serial label for themachine weight.The machine must be on a level surface orsecured before releasing the brakes.Do not drive the machine on a slope thatexceeds the uphill, downhill or side slope rating.See Driving on a Slope in the OperatingInstructions section.If the slope of the transport vehicle exceeds themaximum slope rating, the machine must beloaded and unloaded using a winch asdescribed in the brake release operation.Brake Release Operation1 Chock the wheels toprevent the machinefrom rolling.2 Be sure the winch line is properly secured to thedrive chassis tie points and the path is clear ofall obstructions.3 Push in the black brakerelease knob to openthe brake valve.4 Pump the red brake release pump knob.After the machine is loaded:1 Chock the wheels to prevent the machine fromrolling.2 Pull out the red Emergency Stop buttons onboth the ground and platform controls to the onposition.3 Press the drive function select button.Press and hold the function enable switchon the control handle. Move the control handleoff center and immediately release it to resetthe brakes.4 Push the red Emergency stop buttons on boththe ground and platform controls to the offposition.Towing the GRC-12 is not recommended.
