Use asoft metal drift to remove the pin.7 Tag, disconnect and plug the jib boom levelcylinder hydraulic hoses from the jib boommanifold. Cap the fittings on the manifold.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.8 Attach an overhead crane or other suitabledevice to the jib boom level cylinder forsupport.9 Carefully remove the jib boom level cylinderfrom the machine.Crushing hazard. The jib boomlevel cylinder could becomeunbalanced and fall whenremoved from the machine if notproperly supported.3-5Jib Boom Extension CylinderHow to Remove the Jib BoomExtension CylinderBodily injury hazard. Thisprocedure requires specific repairskills, lifting equipment and asuitable workshop. Attemptingthis procedure without these skillsand tools could result in death orserious injury and significantcomponent damage. Dealerservice is strongly recommended.Note: Perform this procedure with the boom in thestowed position.Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Remove the platform. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to Remove the Platform.2 Remove the jib boom lift cylinder. Refer toRepair Procedure, How to Remove the JibBoom Lift Cylinder.3 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead craneto the platform end of the jib boom for support.Raise the jib boom to a horizontal positionusing the overhead crane.
