Pressing1. Lift up on the handle to open the press. The gas spring lifter will makethis relatively easy.2. Lay out T-Shirt (or other item to be printed) as desired. Lay transferpaper onto shirt. Adjust the pressure knob clockwise to decrease pressure, andcounter-clockwise to increase pressure. Do not turn the knob counter-clock-wise too far or the heat platen will disconnect from the machine frame.4. Bring the handle down, and clamp the press. The handle should lockfirmly in place, and should point straight-forward. Be sure the Transfer Paperis well within the silicone pad pressing area.5. Consult the Transfer Paper instructions on whether to peel cold ot hot. Here are suggested pressing time guidlines for different transfer papers:Ink-Jet Transfer Paper (fabrics) 14-18 secondsLaser Copier/Printer Transfer Paper (fabrics) 18-25 secondsSublimation Transfers (onto Fabrics) 25-30 secondsSublimation Transfers (onto FR-Plastic/Woods) 60-70 seconds6. Mousepads, coasters, and other thicker matierals ranging into the 1/8”thickness range may also be pressed. Simply adjust the pressure adjustmentknob as stated in step 2. Again - Do not turn the knob counter-clockwisetoo far or the heat platen will disconnect from the machine frame. If thishappens, simply screw in the pressure adjustment knob into the heat platen toreconnect it.7. To avoid re-heating the first transfer when printing double sided T-Shirts, insert a sheet of cardboard in between the shirt, adjust the height to lesspressure, & press.Troubleshooting1. Transfer is pressed print-side-up and transfer image is burned onto the heatplaten surface. Unplug press, lift heat platen up to allow room to clean. Use strong detergent andnon-abrasive scrubbing sponge to remove transfer material from heat platen.2. Heat Platen becomes severely misaligned with silicone pad. Loosen top 2 nuts connecting rearguide to to the heat platen cover. Lower heat platen 3/4 down, but do not clamp. Rotate heat platen untilsquare with silicone pad. Clamp the heat platen down fully. Tighten top 2 nuts very tightly to lock heat platenin position by firming the rear guide position.3. Press continuously heats up far beyond normal operating temperature and red light doesnot turn off. The thermostat has failed. Call factory to obtain new thermostat and follow instructions forreplacement.
