They have very sharp blades.UNPACKINGCheck that all parts have been delivered, andthat nothing has been damaged in transit.The supplier should be notified of any shortcomings within eight days.CHOOSING CUTTING TOOLSRead the Cutting Tool Guide on page 2-3.The guide shows which cutting tool is recom-mended to use depending on desired resultand which cutting tools are suitable for usewith YOUR vegetable preparation machine.FITTING THE CUTTING TOOLSPlace the ejector plate on the shaft and turn/press down the ejector plate into its coupling.In the RG-400i, the ejector plate is placed inthe tray, which is, in turn, mounted in the knifehousing of the machine. The tray is always tobe mounted when using grids. When usingother cutting tools, use of the tray is optional.Ensure that the machine’s knife housing hasbeen cleaned before mounting the tray.For dicing, first place a suitable dicing grid,with the sharp edge of the knives upward,in the machine so that the recess in the sideof the dicing grid fits into the guide groove ofthe machine. Then choose a suitable slicer.Fit this to the shaft and then turn it so that itdrops into its coupling (cutting tools for thathave a sprint in the center of the cutting tooltap), or that they goes down firmly at the sameheight as the shaft of the machine (the cuttingtool without a sprint).For slicing, shredding and grating, fit insteadonly the selected cutting tool to the shaft andturn the cutting tool so that it drops into itscoupling (cutting tools for that have a sprintin the centre of the cutting tool tap), or thatthey goes down firmly at the same heightas the shaft of the machine (the cutting toolwithout a sprint).RG-200, RG-250, RG-350 AND RG-400i:On these machines all cutting tools must belocked with a locking device. These deviceshave different names and appearance depen-ding on machine and accessory to be used.See page 4-7 for information on which lockingdevice to use.Lock the cutting tool by turning the lockingdevice counter anti-clockwise onto the centreshaft of the cutting tool. Use the wrench supp-lied for the final few turns to make sure it lockssecurely. Use the same wrench to unlock thelocking device.REMOVING THE CUTTINGTOOLSRemove the cutting tool/cutting tools and theejector plate.RG-200, RG-250 AND RG-350:Unscrew the locking device by turning it clock-wise using the wrench.Remove the cutting tool/cutting tools andejector plate.RG-400i:Unscrew the locking device by turning it clock-wise using the wrench.Remove the cutting tool/tools and the ejectorplate and tray.ALWAYS CHECKBEFORE USE:Check that the knife blades, knife balks andgrater/ shredder plates are intact and are firmlyattached and that the cutting tools are in goodcondition.DURING USE:Check at regular intervals, as above, that allthe knives are in good condition. Knives canbe damaged and come loose if foreign objectssuch as stones enter the machine.AFTER USE:Check after cleaning that the cutting tools are ingood condition and that the knife blades, knifebalks and grater/ shredder plates are intact andare firmly attached.CLEANINGSTAINLESS STEEL:These cutting tools can be washed in a dish-washer.WARNING:• Be very careful of the sharp knives!• Do not use sodium hypochlorite (chlorine)or any agent containing this substance.• Do not use sharp objects or any objects notintended for the purpose of cleaning.• Do not use abrasive detergents or cleaningproducts.• Do not use cleaning sponges with scouringpads (e.g. Scotch-Brite™).ADVICE ON CARE:• Clean the cutting tools immediately afteruse. Use a dishwashing brush and handdishwashing liquid if it is done by hand.• Dry them immediately after cleaning andstore them in a well-ventilated place. Do notput them into drawers.TIPS:DICING GRIDS: With the grid still in themachine, use the brush supplied with yourmachine to press out any remains. If any foodis still stuck in the grid, a good idea is to pushout the cubes with a carrot. With the grid stillin the machine, push carefully with a large,long carrot. Keep the grid in the machine byplacing your fingers on the outer ring of thegrid. Do not push from the underside as thiscan damage the grid.TROUBLE-SHOOTINGFAULT: Strange sounds or noises can beheard from inside the machine, while using acutting tool.REMEDY: Check that the locking device isproperly tightened. If the machine is not fittedwith a locking device, look for heavy wearand tear on the cutting tools or machine.If the cutting tool is damaged it can wobble inthe machine and cause wear. The cutting toolmust then be replaced. Check that the rightcombination of tool is being used in accordancewith the list on page 4-7.FAULT: Poor cutting result.REMEDY: Check that the knife blades/ knifebalks/ grater/ shredder plates on the cuttingtools are sharp. Check that the right combina-tion of cutting tool is being used in accordancewith the list on page 4-7.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONDIAMETER: 185/215 mm. |
