11Navigation and controls• Select among menu items by turning [tuning].• Confirm the selection by pressing [tuning].This procedure is indicated in these operating instructionsby the following symbols:selection (navigate) confirmation (enter)Some features can beaccessed by meansof shortcut buttons.Pressing shortcut buttonsis indicated here by thissymbol.After pressing a shortcut button, navigate amongst themenu items using [tuning].Volume adjustment / mute• You can turn the volume up (right) or down (left) byturning [volume] accordingly.• Press [ ] on the remote control to mute the radio.• Press [ ], on the remote control again to reset thevolume at the level you set before mute the radio.Entering passwords, search terms, and so on• Select each successive letter and digit by turning[tuning] and confirm each selection by pressing[tuning].• To make corrections, select BKSP and confirm. The lastinput made is deleted.• To cancel input, select CANCEL and confirm.• Once your input is complete, select OK and confirm tofinish.• Press [info] to jump directly to the BKSP/ OK/ CANCELfields.Additional informationPress [info] to display context-dependent additionalinformation. The information shown depends on theoperating mode as well as the current selection of radiostation, music file, etc.[info]• DescriptionIndicates the radio station, the current program,contents, subjects, etc.• Program genre/countryIndicates the genre (music style) and the country orregion of the station.• Reliability• Bit-RateThe currently received digital bit rate of the receivedstation is displayed.• CodecSpecifies the encoding scheme used to digitise the dataor signal (such as MP3 or WMA).• Sampling rateSpecifies the sampling rate, or the frequency with whichthe audio signal is polled (Sampling-/ Samplerate), in acertain period of time.• Signal strengthThe signal strength of the received station is displayedvia a bar and its length.• Today’s date• Artist• Album• Folder• PathSpecifies the directory path at which the file currentlybeing played back is saved.Switching on/off / Standby• Press [on / off] to switch the radio on or off (Standby).• To completely switch off the device, disconnect it fromthe power supply.
