Steam fromsteam vent can cause injury.Before first use: Wash Cooking Pot following “Care and cleaning” instructions; dry thoroughly.Assemble Lid with flat side of silicone washer facing down toward Cooking Pot.Cooking riceRice Measuring Cup – Do not throw away the Rice Measuring Cup that comes with your unit.This is an important tool in using your Multi-Cooker successfully as a rice cooker and its size isstandard in the rice industry. One Rice Measuring Cup equals 6 oz. (177 ml) or approximately3/4 cup (U.S. standard measuring cup).Steamer Basket – Use to steam vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, and prepared foods suchas dumplings or rice noodle rolls.If using Multi-Cooker to cook rice, cereal, or grain:1. Add desired amount of uncooked riceto Cooking Pot; then fill with water tocorresponding water line. Example: If youadd 4 level measuring cups of rice to theCooking Pot, add water to the “4” line ofthe pot. DO NOT exceed 10-cup MAX.2. Place Cooking Pot straight down on Base.Make sure Cooking Pot is securely placedinto Base.NOTE: Make sure bottom of Cooking Potis not bent or warped, or it will not conductheat correctly.3. Plug into outlet. Press ON/OFF to turn onMulti-Cooker.4. Press any button and all function buttonswill flash. Press MENU button to selectdesired function.Selected functionand time will flash.Multi-Cooker will startto heat automaticallyafter 5 seconds.5. At the end of thecooking time, theMulti-Cooker willautomatically switchto KEEP WARM. Multi-Cooker will keep warmup to 12 hours, thensound an alarm andswitch to standby mode. Use oven mittsif removing Cooking Pot from Base whilestill hot.Program functionsWHITE RICE and BROWN RICE functions have preprogrammed cycles with a default cookingtime that cannot be adjusted. Actual cooking time depends on the amounts of ingredients andwater. Cooking will start and the display will show a rotating dash until the cooking process isalmost complete. Then, the display time will jump to a time designated by the program and startcounting down until finished cooking. The Multi-Cooker automatically switches to KEEP WARMwhen done cooking and will keep warm up to 12 hours.Time functionsSix functions can be adjusted to the time you desire. After selecting function, pressand hold the function button to start time. The display will show “ON” until the cookingtemperature is reached, then the timer will begin counting down. The Multi-Cookerautomatically switches to KEEP WARM when done cooking and will keep warm up to 12hours.NOTE: The DELAY TIME function can be used with WHITE RICE, BROWN RICE, and HOTCEREAL.FUNCTION TIME RANGESLOW COOK HIGH 1–14 hours; timer countdown starts immediately. Automatically switches toKEEP WARM for a total cooking and warm time of 24 hours.For example, if slow cook time is 6 hours, KEEP WARM time is 18 hours(24 hours minus 6 hours).SAUTÉ 1-60 minutes; timer countdown begins when cooking temperature reaches300°F (150°C).SLOW COOK LOW Same as SLOW COOK HIGH.STEAM 1-60 minutes; timer countdown begins when water boils.HOT CEREAL 5 minutes–3 hours; timer countdown begins when water boils.SOUP 5 minutes–5 hours; timer countdown begins when cooking temperaturereaches 195°F (90°C). Temperature is held at 185-203°F (85-95°C) duringcooking. Stir occasionally.KEEP WARM Select to keep food warm for up to 12 hours.NOTE*: If pot boils dry, Multi-Cooker will beep and the remaining time will flash in display. To continueSTEAM/COOK, add more water within 3 minutes. If no water is added after 3 minutes, the display willflash “Er” until the ON/OFF button is pressed.*While slow cooking, the Condensation Collector may need to be emptied after each time you open the Lid to prevent overflow.KEEP WARMThe KEEP WARM function should be used for already-cooked food. Do not cook on KEEP WARM.Timer will count up to display the total amount of time on KEEP WARM.DELAY TIMEThe Delay Time function can be used with WHITE RICE, BROWN RICE, and HOT CEREAL. Placewater and food items in Cooking Pot or food in Steamer Basket. Select function and cooking time.Press MENU button to select function. Press to select cooking time, only for HOT CEREAL. PressDELAY TIME button and press to select delay time. Press ON/OFF button or Multi-Cooker willautomatically start. DELAY TIME can be set from 0–24 hours.Memory saveIf the power is cut off and restarts within 5 minutes, the Multi-Cooker will remember the initial cookingstatus and continue the previous function automatically. If the power break was longer than 5 minutes,the unit will switch to standby mode. |
