The synchronization process begins.Note: If you have a wireless LAN card, you can synchronize remotely.Adding Programs to the Terminal Using ActiveSyncThe software application must be stored or installed on the host PC. Some programs are installers and install on the PC and theterminal at the same time. Some programs designed for terminals cannot be installed on PCs. In those cases, the appropriatefiles must be stored on the host PC, transferred via ActiveSync, and installed on the terminal.When selecting programs, verify that the program and version of the program are designed for the Pocket PC and yourprocessor. You can verify your processor by tapping Start > Settings > System tab > About > Version tab. Make a note ofthe information in the Processor field.1. Download the program to your desktop computer from either the Internet or the CD or disk that contains the program. Youmay see a single *.exe or setup.exe file, a *.cab file, or *.dll. There may also be several versions of files for different devicetypes and processors.2. Read any installation instructions, Read Me files, or documentation that comes with the program. Many programs providespecial installation instructions.3. Connect the terminal to the host PC via an HHP communication peripheral.If the File is an Installer:4. Double-click the *.exe or *.setup.exe file. The installation wizard begins. Follow the directions on the PC screen.
