ISO7176-16 Requirements for fire resistance.The product has been awarded EN 12184; 1999certification for EMC (Electro MagneticCompatibility).CE declarationThe product meets the standards of the directive forMedical Devices and is thus provided with the CEmarking.Warranty conditionsThe terms used in the warranty and liabilitystipulations are defined as follows:• Product: The hand-operated or electric wheelchairor scooter manufactured and delivered byHandicare.• Customer: The person who directly obtains aProduct from Handicare or an authorisedrepresentative.• Dealer: The person who delivers a Productobtained from Handicare to customers or thirdparties.• User: The person who uses a Productmanufactured by Handicare.Irrespective of what is determined concerningwarranty conditions applicable to the Product, in anycase the following applies with regard to thewarranty:1. Except insofar as described otherwise Handicareguarantees the Product for its suitability for thepurpose for which the Product is intended - all ofthese points as described in this manual - and forthe quality of the material of which the Product ismade and the manner in which the Product ismanufactured.2. Repairs or replacement of parts of the Productthat may be necessary as a result of faults thatare based on qualitatively faulty material ormanufacturing errors will be executed free ofcharge, as long as such faults occurred within one(1) year after the date of delivery of the Product tothe Customer. The parts to be replaced must beshipped postage-paid to Handicare. Installation orremoval of these parts is for the Customer’saccount. Therefore, the following cases are noteligible for free repair or replacement as meantabove:• The repair or replacement that is necessary inconnection with faults that arise after one (1)year after the date of delivery of the Product tothe Customer;• The repair or replacement that is required inconnection with faults due to improper orcareless use of the Product or that are basedon the Product being used for another purposethan the one for which it is intended, in whichregard it applies that if the Customer is aDealer, this Dealer will indemnify Handicareagainst possible claims from Users or otherthird parties for faults based on an incorrect orcareless use of the Product;• Parts that are subject to wear, and the needfor repair or replacement of the parts are theactual consequence of normal wear. Thesecan include, but are not limited to, tyres,shrouds, arm-pads, seatings etc.3. Irrespective of that stipulated under 2, it appliesas far as an electric Product is concerned thatwith regard to the battery that forms part of theProduct warranty is only given in case of faults ornon-functioning of the battery that aredemonstrably the direct consequence of materialor manufacturing errors. A fault or non-functioningof the battery as a result of normal wear is notcovered by the warranty as meant in thesewarranty stipulations. Similarly not covered by thewarranty are faults or non-functioning that are theconsequence of improper or unprofessional use ofthe Product or the battery that is part of theProduct, including the incorrect charging of thebattery and the failure to carry out timely andgood maintenance, in which context it also appliesthat if the Customer is a Dealer, this Dealer willindemnify Handicare against possible claims fromUsers or other third parties that are based on theabove mentioned improper or unprofessional useof the Product or the battery that is part of theProduct. Handicare does not guarantee batteriesprovided by dealers or purchased by thecustomer.4. The warranty conditions as mentioned in abovestipulations in any case become null and void if:• The guidelines of Handicare for themaintenance of the Product are not, orinsufficiently, followed;• A necessary repair or replacement of parts isbased on neglect, damage or abuse of theProduct or a use of the Product for anotherpurpose than the one for which it wasintended;• Parts of the Product are replaced by parts ofanother origin than those used by Handicareand/or parts of the Product are replacedwithout the permission of Handicare.
