The display will show the countdownprior to measurement. The beeper is playinga beep at the end of countdown period.Alternatively, wait for two minutes.8• Press ZERO/CFM and the lamp, cuvetteand detector icons will appear on the display,depending on the measurement phase.Wait for a few seconds and the display willshow "-0.0-". Now the meter is zeroedand ready for measurement.9• Remove the blank from the instrument.10•Remove the cap from the cuvette anddiscard the blank.11•Rinse the cuvette a couple of times withthe unreacted sample and discard it.Turn upside down the empty cuvette andshake it to remove excess of liquid.12•Fill the same cuvette with 10 mL ofunreacted sample.For most accurate results, use of anotherclean class A laboratory pipette is stronglyrecommended (see “Accessories”).Alternatively, fill the cuvette up to the 10 mLmark.13•Add 2 mL of HI 93729-0 Fluoride Reagentto the cuvette by use of the 2000 μLautomatic pipette.14•Replace the cap to the cuvette, and shakegently a couple of times.15• Place the cuvette with the reacted sample intothe cuvette holder and ensure that the notchon the cap is positioned securely into thegroove.16•Press and hold READ/ /TIMER for threeseconds. The display will show the countdownprior to measurement. The beeper is playinga beep at the end of countdown period.Alternatively, wait for two minutes andjust press READ/ /TIMER. In both cases,the lamp, cuvette and detector icons willappear on the display, depending on themeasurement phase.17•The instrument directly displays concentrationin mg/L (ppm) of fluoride on the LCD.Note: For wastewater or seawater samples, be-fore performing measurements, distillationis required.Measurement1. The measuring scheme (lamp, cuvette, detector), appears duringdifferent phases of zero or reading measurement2. Error messages and warnings3. The battery icon shows the charging level of the battery4. The hourglass appears when an internal checking is in progress5. Status messages6. Once thisindication is displayed, the meter will lock up.Change the battery and restart the meter.Cap error: Appears when external light entersin the analysis cell. Please check the preparation ofthe zero cuvette.Light Low: There is not enough light to performa measurement. Please check the preparation ofthe zero cuvette.No Light:The instrument cannot adjust thelight level. Please check that the sample doesnot contain any debris.Inverted cuvettes: The sample and the zerocuvette are inverted.Zero: A zero reading was not taken. Follow theinstructions of the measurement procedure forzeroing the meter.Under range: A blinking “0.00” indicates thatthe sample absorbs less light than the zeroreference. Check the procedure and make sureyou use the same cuvette for reference (zero)and measurement.1• Turn the meter on by pressing ON/OFF.2• When the beeper sounds briefly and theLCD displays dashes, the meter is ready.The blinking “ZERO” indicates that theinstrument needs to be zeroed first.3• Fill one cuvette with 10 mL of deionizedwater. For most accurate results, use of aclass A laboratory pipette is stronglyrecommended. Alternatively, fill the cuvetteup to the 10 mL mark.4• Add 2 mL of HI 93729-0 Fluoride Reagentto the cuvette by use of the 2000 μLautomatic pipette (see “Accessories”).13101216To activatecountdownor wait ... |
