Page EN-14 The ovenThe ovenPreparation1. Remove any polystyrene, cardboard andplastic safety parts from the oven andbaking trays.2. Remove all protective films.3. Thoroughly clean the oven before firstuse, see page EN-18.The right oven cookware– Pots with heat-resistant handles can berecognised by the label indicating ‘heat re-sistant up to 280°C’.– Fire-proof dishes made of glass, porcelain,ceramic and clay or cast iron.– In particular, ovens with top and bottomheat require dishes and trays with goodheat transfer, preferably metals which havebeen painted black, as these allow cakesto brown nicely.– Good results can also be achieved withcoated or non-coated aluminium trays.Proper handling of the ovenCAUTION!Fire hazard!■ Only ever operate the oven with theoven door closed.■ If the cross-fl ow fan (stainless steelmodel only) is broken, switch off theoven and do not use it. Open the ovendoor and call our Service Centre; seepage EN-27.■ In case of an oven fire:– Switch off the circuit break-ers/unscrew fuses– Do not open the oven door untilthe fire is extinguished■ Never extinguish burning oil or fatwith water! To extinguish the fire, usea suitable fire extinguisher with thedesignation ‘F’ or a fire blanket.■ Once the fire has been extinguished,have the appliance checked by ourService team, see page EN-27.NOTICEPent-up heat can damage the oven’senamel.■ Do not place baking trays or alumini-um foil directly on the bottom of thecooking compartment.■ If you wish to place dishes directly onthe bottom of the cooking compart-ment, the oven temperature must notexceed 50°C. Be careful when han-dling cookware – the enamel can beeasily scratched.Baking trays and dripping pan(d)(c)(e)The supplied baking trays (d) and the drip-ping pan (e) have an angled edge. Please en-sure that this edge is facing forward on beingplaced in the oven. The grilling rack (c) mustbe inserted as shown.
