4 - Set-Up4. 10Jockey WheelThe jockey wheel allows the mistblower to be coupled to oruncoupled from the tractor. It should be in position 1 when themistblower is uncoupled, and in position 2 when it is coupled tothe tractor. In this position the jockey wheel is fixed to themistblower’s frame by two spring pins.The jockey wheel is secured in place with two pins that enable it tobe fixed to the frame and held with two spring clips.The height of the machine can be altered by turning the handle ofthe jockey wheel.Drawbar Safety ChainsDue to weight distribution when the MERCURY COVAMAX isworking in the unfolded position, a chain and brace is fitted to thewide angle drawbar to prevent the sprayer from tipping up whenrearward weight conditions are present.The brace is attached to the side plates of the drawbar hitch and achain with shackle is connected to the rear of the tractor.Maintain enough slack in the chain to prevent it from bindingduring operation but taught enough to perform the task.Isolate the hydraulic linkage arm lifting mechanism after chain isfitted to the top link pin.± Warning: Operation of the hydraulic 3 point linkage armslifting mechanism after the chain has been fitted will causethe brace to bend or tractor link arms to reach stall point inhydraulics and may cause damage to the sprayer or tractor.Position 1Position 2
