CD PLAYBACK3. When the TIME section is highlighted, press the KNavigation Button 9 to view the time remain-ing on the track (T-REMAIN). Press again to viewelapsed time of the disc (D-ELAPSED). Pressagain to view the time remaining for the disc(D-REMAIN).4. If you press the Enter Button 9 while the Timedisplay is highlighted, the player displays SET TIME.With the Numeric Keys , you can enter anexact time from which you wish the disc to play,then press the Enter Button 9 or the PlayButton 3G to start playback from the selectedpoint on the disc.• To change the front-panel time display while a CD isplaying without a TV screen, press the M NavigationButton 9 twice. Press the L Navigation Button9 repeatedly to change time display: track timeelapsed – track time remaining – disc time elapsed– disc time remaining.Repeat PlayWith CDs the DVD 25 offers three Repeat functionsthat allow you to take advantage of the capacity of theunit for unattended playback:• Repeat Disc: Plays the complete disc repeatedlyfrom start to finish until the disc is manually stopped.When that mode is selected, REPEAT ALL H willappear in the front-panel display, and REPEAT DISCwill appear on-screen.• Repeat Track: Repeats the CD track currently beingplayed until the disc is manually stopped. When thatmode is selected, REPEAT 1 H will light up in thefront-panel display, and REPEAT TRACK will appearon-screen.• Repeat A-B: Repeats any selected portion of thedisc until the disc is manually stopped.To select any Repeat mode, do the following:1. While a disc is playing, press the Repeat Button on the remote; the Repeat Display appears.2. Access the Repeat modes and their appropriatemenus in the following order by pressing theRepeat Button on the remote repeatedly untilthe desired function is displayed. REPEAT TRACK➜ REPEAT DISC ➜ REPEAT OFF3. To make the menu disappear from the screen, pressthe Clear Button on the remote or wait a fewseconds.• To cancel any Repeat Play function and to continuewith normal play, press the Repeat Button until the Repeat Off banner appears in the on-screendisplay or the REPEAT Indicator H in theFront-Panel Information Display goes out.• Repeat Play may be stopped and canceled bypressing the Stop Button 5I twice.• With CD, all Repeat modes are also available duringProgram play (see page 30). If Repeat All is selectedduring Program play, the complete program will berepeated rather than the disc.A-B Repeat PlayThe Repeat A-B function allows you to select anyportion of a CD and have it repeat continually until theunit is manually stopped.To initiate a Repeat A-B playback sequence, followthese steps while a disc is playing:1. While a disc is playing, press the A-B Button on the remote when you want to choose a passageas the beginning point. The Repeat A– Displayappears and REPEAT A– K is indicated in thefront-panel display.2. Press the A-B Button again to choose theend of the passage. REPEAT A–B will appear on thescreen and in the front-panel display. Repeat A-B isset and the A-B section will be played continuously.3. Press the A-B Button on the remote again sothat the REPEAT A-B Indicators K disappear andREPEAT OFF appears on the screen to cancel theRepeat A-B mode and to play on in normal mode.4. To make the menu disappear from the screen, pressthe Clear Button on the remote or wait a fewseconds.NOTE: The A-B Repeat range may cover severaltracks on the CD.Random PlayThe Random Play function will play all of the tracks ona CD in a random order as selected by the DVD 25.Once the DVD 25 has played all of the tracks on thedisc, it will stop.1. While the disc is in Stop or Resume mode, pressthe Random Button O on the remote. ThePROGRAM EDITOR will appear and the RANDOMIndicator J will light in the front-panel display.The Playlist shows the order in which tracks will beplayed.2. Press the Play Button 3G to begin randomplayback. The Program Editor on the screen will bereplaced by the normal Banner Display.3. To make the Banner Display disappear from thescreen, press the Clear Button on the remote.NOTE: Random Play can also be started or canceledwhen the DVD 25 is in Play mode (without theProgram Editor appearing) by pressing the RandomButton O. Random Play cannot be canceled duringStop or Resume mode by pressing the RandomButton O again. This must be done during play.Video Off FeatureDuring CD playback, some listeners may prefer to turnoff the DVD 25’s video circuitry. Although the videosection is electrically isolated from the audio section,some users may prefer to turn the video displays offduring audio playback to prevent any possibility ofinterference between audio and video. You may alsowish to turn the video display off if you find the menusystem distracting or unnecessary during CD playback.To turn the video displays off while a CD is playing,simply press the Video Off Button Q. Press thebutton again to restore the video output. Note that thevideo output will automatically be restored each timethe DVD 25 is turned on.CD PLAYBACK 29
