8 MOUNTING OPTIONSMOUNTING OPTIONSThe satellite speakers maybe wall-mounted using thesupplied brackets.Satellites and SurroundsThe satellite speakers may beplaced on a shelf. Place each satel-lite speaker on one of the suppliedcoasters for added stability and toprotect your furniture.Wall-MountingUnscrew the bolt that attaches the blackshelf stand to the bottom of the speaker.Store the stand and bolt in a safe place,in case they are needed for a futureinstallation.Mount the wall-bracket attachmentplate on the wall inthe desired loca-tion. If possible, position thespeakers so that the mounting screws(not included; use size #8) may beinstalled directly into a wooden wall stud.If that is not possible, use optional wallanchors that are rated to support at least25 pounds. The customer is responsible forproper selection and use of mounting hard-ware, available through hardware stores, toproperly and safely wall-mount the speakers.Referring to the speaker connection instruc-tions on pages 9 through 12, thread theappropriate speaker cable through the open-ing in the bottom of the wall plate, and thenthrough the back of the bracket, as shown inthe diagram above. The bracket has twoopenings on top: a round screw hole, and anarc-shaped opening in front of it. The speakercable should be threaded through the arc-shaped opening, not the screw hole.Attach the bracket to the wall plate by insertingthe tab at the top of the wall plate into theslot on top of the bracket and snapping thebracket onto the wall plate.Thread the cable through the round openingin the terminal cover, and then insert thespeaker wires into the terminals on theunderside of the speaker, remembering toobserve the correct polarity (see page 9).Place the terminal cover over the openingon the underside of the speaker so that itfits flush against the speaker and covers theterminals, with its round opening exposingthe threaded insert. The bracket fits throughthe round opening in the terminal cover.Insert the supplied bracket bolt up throughthe bottom of the bracket and terminalcover, and screw it into the threaded inserton the underside of the speaker. The boltshould be snug, but not so tight as toprevent the bracket from pivoting. The wall-mounted speaker may be pivotedfrom side to side; however, the bracket isnot designed to be tilted up or down, andattempting to tilt it will damage the bracketand possibly the wall, which would not becovered by your warranty.Wall PlateRemoveStand15mmor 1/2"WallWall PlateWires to SpeakerTerminal CoverOverheadViewWireFromWallPlate23mmor 3/4"(M6–1.25Por 1/4"–20)RemoveStand15mmor 1/2"Wires to SpeakerTerminal CoverOverheadViewWireFromWallPlate23mmor 3/4"Wall PlateWall23mmor 3/4"(M6–1.25Por 1/4"–20)RemoveStand15mmor 1/2"WallWall PlateWires to SpeakerTerminal CoverOverheadViewWireFromWallPlate23mmor 3/4"(M6–1.25Por 1/4"–20)Wall PlateRemoveStand15mmor 1/2"WallWall PlateWires to SpeakerTerminal Cover23mmor 3/4"(M6–1.25Por 1/4"–20)
