6. Install a PCI-X or PCI adapter, if you have one available:a. Remove the expansion-slot cover from the PCI-X slot on the assembly.Attention: PCI expansion-slot covers must be installed on all vacant slots.This maintains the electronic emissions characteristics of the server andensures proper cooling of server components.b. Touch the static-protective package that contains the PCI-X or PCI adapterto any unpainted metal surface on the server. Then, remove the adapterfrom the static-protective package. Avoid touching the components andgold-edge connectors on the adapter.c. Place the adapter, component side up, on a flat, static-protective surfaceand set any jumpers or switches as described by the adapter manufacturer,if necessary.d.
