When Coax or Twinax is selected, a POR status is sent to the host. SelectingAutoswitching provides automatic interface switching among parallel, serial, and either Coax or Twinax communication. Only one interface can be enabledat a time. Configuration of the Auto Switching Hotport is done from thecorresponding interface menu, as shown in the following sections.Note: When used with serial, parallel, and Coax or Twinax non-IPDSemulations, Autoswitching does NOT save the state of each emulationduring interface switching. In this case, it is the responsibility of thehost application program to initialize the emulation to the desired stateas the beginning of each job. It is also the responsibility of the hostapplication program to correctly position the forms at “top of form”and the end of each job. When used with Coax or Twinax IPDS,Autoswitching does save the state of the IPDS emulation duringinterface switching and will also correctly position the forms at “top ofform” at the end of each IPDS job.Twinax Printer EmulationThis parameter defines the printer emulation, as follows:v 4234-12 (the default)v 5225v 4234-2The 4234-12 selection is only present if the IPDS feature is installed. The4234-12 selection is the default if the IPDS feature is installed, otherwise, the4234-2 is the default. After the emulation has been changed, a POR status is sent to the host.Ethernet Addressv IP Address. A numeric address such as 123.45.61.23 which identifies aprinter or server in a LAN or WAN.v Subnet Mask. A binary value used to divide IP networks into smallersubnetworks or subnets. This mask is used to help determine whether IPpackets need to be forwarded to other subnets.v Gateway Address. A gateway address is the IP address of a hardwaredevice (gateway) that translates data between two incompatible networks, which can include protocol translation.v MAC Address. This menu item is the Manufacturer's Assigned Number, and is unique for each printer. It is read-only.v DHCP.
