v Prevent others from touching components.v When you install a new option, touch the static-protective package containingthe option to a metal expansion-slot cover or other unpainted metal surface onthe computer for at least two seconds. This reduces static electricity in thepackage and your body.v When possible, remove the option and install it directly in the computer withoutsetting the option down.
