For information onremoving the computer cover, see “Removing the cover” on page 25. You might need to movethe power supply aside or remove adapters to access some components on the system board.For information about adapters, see “Installing adapters” on page 31. When disconnectingcables, be sure to note where they are attached, so that you can correctly reattach them later.Identifying parts on the system boardThe system board, also called the planar or motherboard, is the main circuit board in yourcomputer. It provides basic computer functions and supports a variety of devices that are IBM-installed or that you can install later.
