Unloading the 8 mm Tape CartridgeBefore you perform the unload operation, make sure the power to the system unit is on.1 Window side of tape cartridge2 8 mm tape cartridge3 Write-protect tab4 Unload buttonTo unload and eject the tape cartridge, press the unload button. The service processorrewinds the tape, then ejects the tape cartridge from the tape drive. After you press theunload button, the following actions occur:v The ready status light goes off.v The read/write status light flashes during the unload operation.v The read/write status light goes off when the cartridge is ejected from the tape drive.The time required for a tape to rewind and unload is between 18 seconds and 3minutes, depending on the position of the tape when you push the unload button.If a fault or an error condition occurs and you cannot eject the tape, press the unloadbutton for approximately 15 seconds to reset the drive.
